The Lord Jesus said that He would see to the building of His Church, and that even the very gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18).  And furthermore, Ephesians 5:25-27 tells us that “Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it; that He might sanctify it and cleanse it with the washing of the water of the word, that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”  There can be no question about the fact that God loves His Church and is determined to act in His Church’s best interest, to the glory of His amazing grace.  I am so thrilled that we at Hillcrest can lay claim to those precious promises, because we are indeed one small part of that group of born-again people called in the Bible “the Church.”  We’re certainly not all there is of the Church—because God’s Church is huge, encompassing all those who have believed on Jesus unto salvation the world over.  But we are part of this great supernatural organism called “the Church,” and we are seeking to be a faithful, God-loving, Christ-honoring, Spirit-filled part of what He is up to in this place and time.  Thanks for checking out our website, and if you’re not already a faithful member/attender of Hillcrest, please know that you are most welcome to join us as we do our dead-level best to surrender our all to Jesus and learn of Him, so that we may inform our lives and choices by His inspired and inerrant Bible.
